The picnic and ticket drawing this year is on September 6th from to . I hope to see a lot of you there.
We are going to have our Summer Gun Show on July 19 and 20 this year. There will be no Masonic Flea Market to go along with it. If any of you members want to set up Yard Sale tables on the range area you are welcome to.
Welcome new and returning members! Aaron Barge, Kim Bickford, Kyle Conto, John Schwartz, and Davina Thurston.
We will be practicing on Monday evenings between now and September. Come on to the club and shoot with us. We are always looking for new shooters. Please call team captain Charlie Marshall at 891-6018 or email him at firstname.lastname@example.org for more info.
We have moved the workday to May 10th so that we can help out with the Daffest Soapbox Derby on April 26th. Hopefully we will get to do some outside cleaning. We will be upgrading the florescent fixtures in the club to T8s. We may also be installing a central vac system that has been purchased.
S.A.F.E. ACT UPDATE:
The date to register semi-automatic rifles with certain cosmetic features was on April 15th. I talked to one person who tried to register a rifle last month and the State Police either couldn't or wouldn't register it. I'm not sure if their data base is set up at this time. My personal opinion on this matter is that an illegal law should be nullified by the people. We need people to get out and vote for the candidates who will preserve and enhance our freedoms. The NYS voter registration site is: http://www.elections.ny.gov/NYSBOE/download/voting/voteform.pdf
If you are not currently registered please do register and vote. If you don't have internet access please contact me, Dave Bodah, at 518-891-5989, and I will send you a form and a stamp.
There is a new vets group in the area called Homeward Bound
Adirondacks. Eric Olsen has been
appointed the new director. Their office
is currently located above the Blue Line Sports Shop on
SHARPENING SERVICE OFFERED:

The club has for sale a few items that were going to be used for the point well system. These are virtually new.
A jet pump. A stainless steel point. We also have two vintage Pepsi coolers in working condition. If you are interested in buying any of these items contact me at 518-891-5989 or email@example.com .
The Club has experienced some very unsafe shooters on the
indoor range in the last couple of months.
Many clubs have indoor ranges that are only open when a range officer is
present. Our indoor range has always
been open 24/7 as long as no official event is scheduled. We would really like to keep it that
way. With holes in the beams, walls and
ceiling appearing, we have decided to place security cameras and a DVR to
record any activity on the indoor range.
This way we can hopefully address the issue of unsafe shooters and
identify and educate them in range safety.
We have placed a sign in book at the door to the range and would like
all users to please sign in and out also.
We will repair all the holes during workday. If the unsafe shooting continues after that
we will go on to plan B, which will require separate electronic access to the
range. Also required will be a safety
class and a separate fee for anyone wanting to use the indoor range, similar to
the way the
If you have any news, stories or an item for sale please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org and I will put it in the newsletter.
Hello - I am writing to you to
inform you that the Saranac Lake Fish and Game Club (SLFGC) has
established a FACEBOOK page (FBp) presence. What does this mean and how does it
The FBp will allow you to receive SLFGC updates, see future schedule of events and read announcements. More for your benefit, you can post information, post questions and answers and/or concerns. There are several good features to the FBp and you have the option to take part very actively or just view what you wish to view. We, with your activity, can make this this a very interactive group. Also, there is the opportunity to post your pictures and movies, make comments and connect with other members. Your shooting, fishing and hunting photos will surely make this group very interesting. Do not hesitate to post your pictures or movies. This is a CLOSED group. This means that only Fish and Game Club members will be allowed to see and make posts. Non-members will only see the main page and the members. If a viewer wishes to join, they must first join the SLFGC and then will be allowed to join the FB page. Current members that are interested in joining the FBp must first click on the following link:https://www.facebook.com/groups/SARANAC.LAKE.FISH.GAME/Once on the FBp, click on "Join Group" on the right hand side of the page. This will send a message to an administrator who will authenticate the request and if valid, the new FB member will have access to the entire page.
If you have any questions, concerns or need some assistance, please contact me via email and I will be more than happy to assist you.
Sincerely, Ralf Hartmann
